Dog-Man’s best friend
Researchers in Hungary scan the Dogs’ Brain as they listen to their trainer to determine which parts of the brain they use.
The result shows dogs process words with the left hemisphere, while pitch and tone with right hemisphere, same as humans.
In addition, they only register that on being praise if the words and pitch are positive. Senseless words spoken in an encouraging tone, or senseful words in a normal tone, did not have the same result.
Lead Researcher Attila Andics, a neuroscientist from Eotvos Lorand University in Budapest said “Dog brains care over both what we say and how we say it. Applaud can work as a award only if both intonation and word meaning match.”
Attila said the research suggests that the mental capability to process language evolve earlier than previously believed. That what sets sapiens apart from other species is the invention of language and words.
Why only Dogs?
Other species probably also have mental capability to understand words like dogs do. But their lack of concern in human speech makes it hard to test, said Attila.
Dogs, on the other side, have socialized with human beings for thousands of years, also they are more attentive to what someone say to them and how.

Andics also pointed that all of the dogs were unrestrain, awake and very happy during the experiment. “They participated voluntarily,” he added.
