Yes, it is a master-dalit stroke by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his party. NDA’s candidate as 14th President Of India Ram Nath Kovind is a dalit. It is no better a chance to extend their roots in this community.
Ram Nath Kovind
Born in October 1, 1945 at Kanpur, Dehat in Uttar Pradesh. Advocate Ram Nath Kovind is currently working as Bihar Governor. He is an active dalit leader who has also worked as President of Dalit Morcha and President of All India Koli Samaj. Kovind is married and have two children.
He has served as member on various Parliamentary Committees. These include: Parliamentary Committee on Home Affairs, Parliamentary Committee on Welfare of Scheduled Castes/Tribes, Parliamentary Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment, Parliamentary Committee on Petroleum and Natural Gas, Parliamentary Committee on Law and Justice. He has also served as ex-rajya sabha member and also worked as spokesperson for BJP.
He has also served as Board member of Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University in Lucknow.
Ram Nath is working as Bihar’s Governor since August 8, 2015.
He will nominate his candidature on 23rd June 2017.
Since many of the Indian political parties does not have major issues as Kovind’s candidature. Therefore, he is likely to be throned as 14th President of India.
Kovind, seems like preceding current Indian President Pranab Mukherjee.
